Most of my work consists of a group of individual pieces that placed together in a sequence may suggest a process, journey or narrative. The pieces are small so the viewer must come closer to see the work and to notice subtle details. In this way I am inviting them to form a more intimate connection with the work. I reference personal experiences as a source for my work. My paintings are done in a realistic manner from photographs that I have taken. Using these photographs I make decisions regarding the choice of subject, format, and color in a way that guides the viewer's perception of a work and takes it in a different place than what the original photograph could convey. In my installations the viewer is provided with information through photos, paint color, and materials inside the containers, along with the placement of individual pieces
